Spring Summer 2021 : 추한 여자 (醜한 女子)

“추하면 추할수록 아름다움은 커진다.”

추악하다는건
가장 자연스러운것,
틀에 담을 수 없어 가장 새로운것,

예상치 못한 반전이 있는 모습.

통상적인 아름다움을 거스르고 숨김없이 있는 그대로를 보여줄 줄 아는 것.

그러하기에, 가장 아름다운 것.

노자의 도덕경에서 추하다는 것은 가장 큰 아름다움(大美)를 의미하였습니다.
이런 동양미학에서 영감을 얻어 Spring/Summer 2021컬렉션을 제작했습니다.

“ The true beauty is found in ugliness. “

Ugliness is rebelious, unexpected, effortless, natural.

It is a true perfection itself, from its’ imperfection. It is one of the most sophisticated and
profound aesthetics in asian culture, found in the ancient times.

Mina Chung’s first collection attempts to reinterpret ‘ugliness’ into contemporary fashion
by questioning many taboos on women that still exists,
And come up with a collection for modern, sophisticated women.
