2022 F/W MINA CHUNG – ‘농담 濃淡’

(Light and Shade)

대체로 묘사가 촘촘하고 빼곡하며 색채가 화려한 것을 농濃이라 하고,

간략한 묘사로 별 수식 없이 소박하고 자연스러운 것을 담淡이라고 한다.

농과 담, 이렇게 완전히 반대되는 두 개념이 합쳐진 예술을 묘사하는 ‘농담濃淡’이라는 동양미학 용어에서 영감을 얻어, 이를 컬렉션으로 풀어보았다.

세부적으로는, 프린트 디자인을 통해 ‘농濃’의 화려함을 표현했고,

패턴과 구조를 실험적으로 접근하여 간결하되 임팩트가 강한 실루엣을 표현하며, ‘담淡’의 개념을 패션에 담아보았다.

2022 F/W MINA CHUNG – ‘Light and Shade 濃淡’

In East Asian art history, there is a concept called ‘濃’ which describes colorfulness and fullness, and another word ‘淡’ , which rather contrasts with ‘濃’, meaning simpleness.

Combining these two concepts together, this is interpreted as ‘Light and Shade’ in English.

For MINA CHUNG’s F/W 2022 collection, ‘Light and Shade’ is translated into silhouette and print ideas, inspired by this Asian art theory.
